Meet Francesca: The “Chatterbox” Keeping Smiles Bright at West End

My Dental Care @ West End - Francesca Watson Blog

If you’ve walked into our West End clinic, chances are you’ve been greeted by a warm smile and a friendly “hello” from our Practice Manager, Francesca. Known around the office as a bit of a “chatterbox” (her words, not ours!), Francesca is the glue that keeps our clinical team and our patients connected.

We sat down with her to chat about life behind the front desk, secret pregnancies, and why the quirky West End vibe is unlike anywhere else.

The Secret Weapon: Laughter

For many, a trip to the dentist comes with a side of nerves. Francesca sees it as her personal mission to change that.

“My secret weapon is just making people laugh or smile,” Francesca says. “I enjoy really connecting with people… seeing that they’re anxious and getting them out of their own heads. I’ll ask questions or tell jokes—whatever it takes to get them comfortable.”

A Place Where Everyone is Family

At My Dental Care, we take the “family” label seriously. Francesca explains that the support from our founders, Jason and Casey, trickles down to every patient interaction.

“We always seem to just have each other’s backs. We’ll go out of our way for each other in ways I’ve never really experienced in another clinic. It makes me feel very happy, safe, and comfortable here.”

That family vibe extends to our patients, too—sometimes in very literal ways! Francesca shared that because we see so many local families, the team often becomes the “keepers of secrets.”

“We have patients who got married and got pregnant before they told any of their family… and we knew their parents were booked in the next week! They tell us because they have to for their dental health, but then it’s like, ‘Don’t tell anyone!’ We love being part of those milestones.”

Secrets, Surprises, and the West End Vibe

Being a local fixture in West End means Francesca has seen it all—from the “quirky” morning surprises like finding electric scooters balanced on top of the clinic bins, to being the first to know a patient’s big life news.

Because dental health is so closely linked to overall health, patients often have to share news with the team before they tell their own families. Francesca recalls a couple who came in with a double secret: “They came in and were like, ‘Oh my god, we’ve just got married! You can’t tell anybody! I know my parents are booked in next week!’ Then two months later, she’s like, ‘So I’m pregnant, I haven’t told anybody yet!’”

It’s that level of trust that makes our team feel like family. Francesca credits our practice owners, Jason and Casey, for fostering an environment where everyone has each other’s backs. “It’s all these little things that all add up and make me feel very happy and safe and comfortable here.”

Francesca’s “Insider Tip” for New Patients

We asked Francesca for the one thing every new patient should know before they sit in the chair. Her answer? Honesty is the best policy.

“We know when you’ve only just started flossing the week before your appointment,” she laughs. “We’re not going to judge you for it at all! But the more we know, the more we can help you.”

Life Outside the Clinic

When the week wraps up and the clinic closes on Friday afternoon, Francesca swaps her clinical gear for trainers. You’ll find her winding down by heading to the forests and lakes with her husband and her dog—the perfect way to recharge before another “quirky” Monday in West End.
